A good scarce die-stamped on loops. Blackened brass eight pointed star bearing applied silver circlet “Second Surrey Rifle Volunteers’; old Arms of Surrey to lined centre.

Formed at Croydon on 16th June 1859 became 1st VB The Queen’s in March 1883.

Irish. 83rd (County of Dublin) Regiment of Foot OR’s shako plate circa 1861-68.

A good extremely scarce die-stamped brass example of crowned star pattern bearing Garter; seeded centre pierced with “83” Retains both original lead soldered iron loops to reverse. Generally VGC

83rd raised 29th September 1793 in Dublin by Colonel William Fitch, popularly known as "Fitch's Grenadiers"; in 1881 became 1st Bn. Royal Irish Rifles.

A good scarce OR’s example. Mounted on a white metal star, a brass Garter; central white metal “5” on a black painted ground. Four screw posts to reverse. 3 o'clock star tip repaired during its working life.
