RAF Fire Service Steel Helmet.
A rare issue example of the 1944 pattern steel helmet used during the 1970's by the RAF Fire Department. Original yellow painted finish, with transfer to the front. The interior with original strap and lining. This dated 1975 with MOD issue stamps. GC.

An extremely rare example of black metal. Made as a petrol lighter. The base plate with a reverse screw thread, revealing an escape pattern compass. VGC

An example of this pattern of escape lighter is on display amongst the escape aids in the Royal Air Force Museum Hendon.

WW2 RAF Escape & Evasion Aircrew Issue Pipe.
A very rare example, one of only two known, to have be sold on the open market in the last 10 years. This example is fitted with a secret chamber to the stem that contains the tiny size brass escape compass. The mouth section can be pulled out like a normal pipe and then can be unscrewed to reveal the compass chamber. Remains in good condition, some age wear. Brass compass body with needle pin for the rose is present, however compass rose and glass absent. Rubber stopper for the chamber present.

These pipes were issued to aircrew of Bomber Command Circa 1942 / 43

WW2 U.S.A.A.F. A-8B Oxygen Mask
A good rare example representing the pattern worn by aircrews of the 8th Air Force operating over Europe during WW2. The mask section of this example remains in superb condition with no damage to the rubber, which remains supple as original issue. Complete with original leather and elastic straps and retaining original bladder. The bladder remains supple, but as common has cracked in the folds with some holes, this not effecting the overall appearance. Also with tube and end fitting. The mask with makers details and date 2-43. Excepting the damage to the bag and very good example.

WW2 RAF Early Pattern D Type Flying Helmet.
A scarce early issue example, with provision for both the D type and later type Oxygen masks. This example with heavy wear and is now grubby. One ear rubber has hardened and crumbled see photographs. The other rubber remains good and very supple. As stated heavy wear and damage to felt inter panel.

Late WW2 Cold War Period Royal Air Force Aircrew Logs. Compiled by Flight Lieutenant G.R.Robson who flew over 3,250 hours.

Compiled by Flight Lieutenant G.R.Robson who flew over 3,250 hours. The logs cover a period of January 1944 until February 1965. Originally trained as a Wireless Operator, he saw service on Sunderland Flying Boats, plus other types, before converting as a crewman on Whirlwind helicopters. The log records a number of Search & Rescue “Ops” with 202 Squadron, including 30/9/64 “Ops Ejected From JP (Jet Provest) Crailing 2 pilots rescued” The record is compiled in two logs. GC some service wear.

WW2 RAF Pilots Aircrew C Type Flying Helmet and G Type Mask Combination.
A superb example representing the flying helmet combination worn by RAF aircrew 1943 to the end of the war. Comprising: C Type Flying Helmet, second pattern size 4 (Largest issue size). The helmet complete with internal wiring loom and velvet band to the interior. .... G Type Oxygen mask in near unissued condition. Rubber supple with no cracks, retaining copper nose wire and rubber bands to the elasticated straps. Fitted with mike and rubber hose. The hose again in superb condition and retaining spring clip. Overall Very Good Clean Condition.

This example of the H Type Oxygen mask is fitted with the early pattern large mike and is dated 4-62 (April 1962). Complete with harness and with wiring loom and jack plug. Rubber remains soft and supple, no evidence surface crazing. GC Clean condition.

WW2 RAF Battle of Britain Period 1936 Pattern Flying Boots.
A scarce pair of the pattern of flying boot commonly worn by aircrew during the Battle of Britain. Black polished leather with a white sheepskin lining. The interior retaining original leather pulls with Air Ministry issue stamps indicating 1939 size 6. This pair have been worn, the origin leather soles have now got a hole in each through wear. The black upper section remains good with the usual scuffs etc. Lambswool now a cream colour

WW2 RAF 1941 Pattern Aircrew issue Flying Boots
A superb pair of the brown suede 1941 pattern flying boots, with ankle strap. These boots have been worn (evident by the heals) with no deterioration to the rubber band and retaining original sole and heals. White sheepskin lining to the interior and retaining original Crowned AM stamp zips. Issue stamps and size 8. VGC.
